Guan-gong symbolizes the Keeper of Peace, Business Success and the Guardian of House and Home.

Known as Guan Yu in the 3rd century AD (a popular General of the emperor at the time), he was later given the honorific name of Guan-gong as he rose to divine status. Temples to Guan-di (his name as a god) can be found in almost all of China’s larger towns.

Guan-gong is venerated as a god of justice and righteousness, a mediator of disputes. Although he is a god of war, his main function was as an enforcer of peace. He is also a popular protector and guardian for ouse and home as well as being an ideal influence in the workplace, ensuring business success.
