High-quality colored Tibetan singing bowls etched with the matching chakra sign.
Singing bowls are used for meditation, sound healing, and space clearing.
Believed to calm the mind, boost clarity and focus, and energetically clear a space.
Singing bowls have widely been used since ancient times in Nepal and Tibet mostly by Buddhist monks for meditation, religious ceremonial music, traditional ritual offerings, and in prayer.
How to play:
Take a deep breath and exhale – RELAX. Getting into the right mindset and space is important. Tibetan bowls are best played without forcing them to sing. It’s about adjusting your technique as you feel the bowl rest on your palm, and allowing the bowl to sing.
Allow the bowl to gently rest on the palm of your hand - (do not grab or grip the bowl or it will dampen the vibrations that cause the bowl to sing).
With a firm, even pressure, rub the outside rim of the bowl in a circular motion with the mallet. Striking the bowl first is not necessary – this is trying to force the sound rather than allowing the vibrations to build into a pleasant ringing tone.
Gently increase your speed as the bowl begins to vibrate and as the sound grows, although a louder volume is not the goal. Try to keep a smooth, even tone without rattling. In meditation – louder is not better, you are trying to create a harmonious space.
You can also enjoy the sound of the bowl by just tapping it with the wooden mallet.
