• An aluminum-rich silicate mineral which forms in pegmatites at extremely high 
  temperatures
• Also known as Disthene from the Greek words for “two” and “strong” referring to the different hardness measurements that occur when the mineral is scratched in two different directions (with its crystalline growth and across)
