Additional Information:

• Larimar is only found in the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean
• Volcanic in origin, this rare blue variety of the silicate mineral Pectolite, is colored by traces of copper within the stone
• Rediscovered by Miguel Méndez, this stone was named for his young daughter, Larissa, along with the Spanish word for the sea, "mar", to form Larimar, to suggest the soft blues of the Caribbean Sea where it is found.
