QUE is also an abbreviation for:

“Quartz Undulatory Extinction”, a geological term used to describe when quartz is viewed in a thin slice under cross-polarized light through a microscope.  When rotated, certain areas of undulating light wavelengths shining through the crystal will appear black (extinction) as the light is blocked by the deformation of the crystal structure due to prior strain and external pressures

• A porphyritic rhyolite (volcanic rock) with phenocrysts (pockets) of: Quartz (Blue), Feldspar and Sericite Mica (Pink), also thought to contain Kaolinite, Chlorite, Biotite Mica, Iron Oxides, Magnetite, Clinozoisite, and Leucoxene
• Primary source for this stone is Brazil with a specific variety being found in Llano County, Texas, which they call Llanite
