Elestial or "Skeletal" Quartz is characterized by internal and external dissolution-growth features from unstable conditions during crystallization.  They often form with geometric patterns of lines, depressions, and raised terminations etched into their surface following the lines of growth.  Frequently, clay mineral can also occur internally.  The crystal may appear layered, ribbed, or even hollow or skeletal.

Energetically, they are believed to impart wisdom from the past, opening the way for intuition and accessing the spiritual world, as well as facilitate transformation and evolution of the spirit.
