Abacus: Abundant wealth, financial acumen; the swirl shapes featured is similar to the head of the Ruyi scepter for things “As you wish”.
Fish: Abundance, success, and luck in love; yú 鱼 “fish”, sounds like yú 余 “surplus”. The jumping carp above the waves is from the belief that after swimming upstream and leaping the legendary Dragon Gate, the carp becomes a dragon; for perseverance, achievement, and success. The double heart is for harmonious relationship.
Money Bag: Prosperity, abundance; it reads: Fú 福 meaning, “blessings, happiness, good luck”
Elephant: Good luck, strength, prosperity, protection, and wisdom; a raised trunk calls good luck to you and offers protection. The front and back together reads: jíxiáng 吉祥 meaning, “lucky”.
Fortune Wheel: Great good luck. Gourd: good job; húlu 葫芦 “gourd”, sounds like fúlù 福禄 - Fú (see Money Bag), and Lù is a “high government position”. Fú is also written in the wheel center. The gourd top/bottom is Heaven/Earth; the two halves also form the number “8”, for wealth and prosperity. Ruyi (see Abacus). 6 gourds + 6 ruyi = liù liù dà shùn 六六大順 (6x6 Great Fortune - a popular idiom for “everything going your way”).
