• Due to its name origin from the Greek word to “increase”, this stone is said to increase, amplify, and grow whatever intention is being firmly held within one’s heart— although frequently used for manifesting and attracting abundance and great wealth, use with caution as negative, pessimistic attitudes can also be amplified, creating a self-fulfilling pattern of self-sabotage!

Additional Information:

• A calcium aluminum iron sorosilicate; although it is its own mineral, it is now officially classified as belonging to the Epidote Group, which includes Clinozoisite and Piemontite
• Epidote is of secondary metamorphic origin in marble and schist; also as a product of 
  hydrothermal alteration of various minerals (including: feldspars, pyroxenes, amphiboles, micas, garnets) composing igneous rocks
• Common associates it may form with include: Quartz, Prehnite, and Calcite; Epidote with Piemontite is Dragon Blood or Dragon Stone (“Jasper”); Epidote with Peach, Red, or Pink Orthoclase Feldspar and Quartz is Unakite
• Name comes from Greek επιδοσιζ epidosis, meaning “increase”, describing the crystal characteristic of one longer side at the base of the prismatic crystal

Caution: Avoid abrupt temperature changes; use nothing abrasive; avoid ultrasonic cleaners and harsh detergents; stone is very brittle and can easily cleave when struck
