hydrothermal alteration of various minerals (including: feldspars, pyroxenes, amphiboles, micas, garnets) composing igneous rocks
- Common associates it may form with include: Quartz, Prehnite, and Calcite; Epidote with Piemontite is Dragon Blood or Dragon Stone (“Jasper”); Epidote with Peach, Red, or Pink Orthoclase Feldspar and Quartz is Unakite
